Sainsbury’s plans for the major regenrations of Churnet Works have now been submitted to Staffordshire Moorlands District Council.

If approved, the developments will provide a huge range of benefits to the local community, including much needed housing and employment accommodation, additional shopping facilities to complement the town's existing offer and a significant area of attractive public open space.

A 3,716sq m (40,000sq ft) Sainsbury’s foodstore with:

- a customer restaurant

- over 500 car parking spaces

- A full range of disabled and parent/child facilites

3 retail warehouses

11 Employment units

A petrol station

A recycling centre

Improved vehicle access and traffic flow

Safe pedestrian routes and links to the town centre

Attractive public open spaces

Significant landscaping along the River Churnet

 

The development will also see the settings of the Listed bridge and adjacent Listed Bridley's Corn Mill and Conservative Working Mens Club enhanced for the enjoyment of the community.
